Earlier this week you saw this art director’s subtle black and white GIFs that convey the anxiety that she experiences in life.

Now, Mumbai-based Indian illustrator Pranita Kocharekar hopes to raise awareness on anxiety disorder through her comical series ‘Is That You?’

The collection of 15 drawings depicts situations of anxiety inspired by her experiences and those of her friends.

She explained to Mashable, “After speaking to a few friends, I realized that there are many people who suffer from minor and major anxiety. I also realized that there are simple solutions to minor anxiety such as acknowledging it, meditation and breathing techniques.”

“I knew that stating these facts [would] not be enough. So I began gathering details of incidents that my friends and I acknowledged and illustrated them.”

“Using a serious approach could make an already anxious person even more anxious. I wanted to keep the mood as light as possible.”

Kocharekar clarified that her series focuses on the emotions related to anxiety and not on symptoms of the disorder.

The designer brought the illustrations to life on paper using watercolors, before digitizing them to enhance details. She cites British illustrator Gemma Corell’s sketches on mental illness as inspiration for her work.

“The idea was to let people know that they’re not alone, that this is fixable if acknowledged,” Kocharekar explained.
